Description
Men's Shelter can house up to 38 men every night at The Salvation Army in Benton Harbor. In addition to a safe place to say, these men have a hot meal, make new friends, and are given the resources they need to find a new home of their own. Currently serving as the only single emergency men's shelter on the southwest side of Michigan, our shelter is available for men seeking emergency shelter. They provide: Meals, Case management, Pastoral care, Social services, and Referrals to other local community agencies. The men's shelter is open daily, from 5 pm to 9 am. When men come into the shelter, they are greeted with clean bedding, the opportunity to take a hot shower, and fed a hot meal. Staff clean their clothes and give them clothes to sleep in for the night.
The Adult Rehabilitation Center (ARC) provides residential housing, work, and group and individual therapy, in a clean, wholesome environment. Our Turning Point program offers professional and comprehensive treatment of substance use disorders, including sub-acute detox, short-term residential and outpatient treatment. For over 100 years, The Salvation Army has offered spiritual, emotional, and social assistance to those who have lost the ability to cope with their problems and provide for themselves. Our free programs provide housing, food, counseling, community, and employment as we work to treat the symptoms, and ultimately the root causes, of prolonged alcohol and drug dependence.
Pathway of Hope is a program to assist families with minor children that links and coordinates services within The Salvation Army with community agencies. Families in the Pathway of Hope receive support from a caring team that helps them set and achieve their own goals.
