Berrien Community Foundation helps facilitate several scholarships for students to experience quality arts programming over summer break.
Wood Family Summer Arts Scholarship
The Wood Family’s participation in music goes back several generations to Doug’s grandpa Archie, who entertained Great Lakes cruise ship passengers in the 1930s. Jill and Doug believe that arts education is critical to educational, social and personal growth and, with a little luck, builds a skill that can bring lifelong joy to the student.
The Wood Family Summer Arts Scholarship will provide financial support for students to experience summer camps, intensives or programs that explore an artistic discipline. Two scholarships of up to $1,500 each are available.
Artistic disciplines that would be considered include, but are not limited to: Instrumental and vocal music; dance; visual arts such as painting, sculpting and photography; theater arts such as acting, directing and costume design.
Eligible applicants:
- Any Berrien County student entering 9th-12th grade in Fall 2025.
Applications are due March 15, 2025
